Have you ever fallen in love???If not, just open out the window next to your bed after a tiring day and a jolly evening. When your parents in the next room are deep asleep, just hold the grills of your window and look through it.When the only sound around you is the monotonous groaning of an old fan that you have seen since you were born, just dare to unlock the window, and let a wild breeze smack your face. When your cheeks are being caressed by little strands of hair, do you not notice, the strangely awful silence of your locality? It seems as if you are in an alien land- the Utopia of your dreams!!! Your next door aunt who had been quarreling with your mom the whole morning, the flies droning in the confectioner's untidy shop, the screams of the child downstairs- there's nothing to match your memories of the day.
The watchmen, after striding about for a few hours, have fallen asleep too.You feel angry, right???Actually, they get paid for their job!Anyway, change your mood, look at something else. The construction site opposite to your house, so hushed, so motionless! The bulb hanging from an iron pole via a wire wavers as the breeze again lashes against you face.It seems to accompany the trees- right beside it- in their ballet. And their shadows play on Mr. Dutta's three- storeyed house.
Some nocturnals move about in the red road in front of your gate.An owl hoots, thus breaking off the silence, and is followed by a bat and a few other unknown birds.Your eyelashes covet those of your parents' as they too demand a good sleep. But the intoxicating scene refuses to let you go.And suddenly you notice the moon peeping through the mango leaves. It seems as if the silent moon tries to befriend you.Say a 'HI' and return to your own self...Oh! Was that a man?...
